Welcome to Southwest Florida 🏝️

Our villa is located in Charlotte County on Florida's relaxed Gulf Coast. If you've only ever known Cape Coral or Miami as part of Florida, you'll be surprised. Here you'll find a quieter, more authentic side, full of nature and beauty, with countless waterways, palm trees, pristine beaches, and islands free from any high-rise buildings or mass tourism.

Whether it's a boat trip around Cape Haze, collecting seashells on the beach, swimming in the warm sea, watching dolphins, a round of golf, or a sundowner – the coastal towns offer many small shops, cozy bars, and restaurants, often with live entertainment and right by the water. And as a bonus: picture-perfect sunsets that you won't soon forget.

Charlotte County in Southwest Florida (SWFL)

Charlotte County sits on Florida’s Gulf Coast and is centered around Charlotte Harbor—one of Florida’s largest estuaries. From the beaches and barrier islands at the harbor mouth, the county reaches inland toward areas like Babcock Ranch. To the north, Charlotte County meets Sarasota County near Englewood; to the south, it borders Lee County near Boca Grande (Gasparilla Island).

Punta Gorda, the county seat, is a charming waterfront town where the Peace River meets Charlotte Harbor. Its historic downtown is made for slow afternoons—boutiques, galleries, and restaurants—especially beautiful during golden hour along the waterfront. With Fishermen’s Village, scenic promenades, and plenty of parks, Punta Gorda blends relaxed Florida energy with a distinctly nautical vibe.

Rotonda West is a beautiful, planned waterfront community on Florida’s Gulf Coast—about 94 miles south of Tampa and roughly 50 miles north of Fort Myers. The layout is easy to spot from the air: it looks like a giant wheel with spokes. Canals, bridges, lakes, and waterways shape the neighborhood and give it that classic Florida water-life vibe. Golfers love the area—Rotonda Golf & Country Club features five courses nearby. At the heart of the community is Rotonda Community Park & Preserve, with trails, recreation areas, and open green space. Our villa sits on the western side of the “Circle,” in Rotonda Heights, about 1.5 miles (as the crow flies) from the Gulf.

Port Charlotte is about 20 minutes northeast of Rotonda. It’s the region’s main hub for shopping, dining, and everyday conveniences—plus plenty to do outdoors. Enjoy the waterfront at Charlotte Harbor, take a walk through Tippecanoe Environmental Park, catch a game at Charlotte Sports Park, or head to Port Charlotte Town Center and the many stores and restaurants along US 41 (Tamiami Trail). It’s also a great launching point for exploring Charlotte Harbor by boat—perfect for fishing, cruising, and sunset drinks by the water.

Englewood, to the west, is a relaxed coastal town that feels like a little piece of “Old Florida”: friendly, unhurried, and close to nature. With palm trees, charming boutiques, and cozy cafés, the beach is never far—ideal for long shoreline walks, shelling, and golden Gulf sunsets. One of the biggest draws is the string of barrier islands just offshore—like Gasparilla Island (Boca Grande), Manasota Key, and Don Pedro Island—known for soft sand, clear water, frequent dolphin sightings, and postcard-worthy sunsets. If you’re looking for a romantic, laid-back Florida escape away from the crowds, Englewood is hard to beat.
